Hello and welcome to the YesterNook blog! Our goal here is to provide a glimpse into YesterNook the store through photos and mini-essays that give you a behind the scenes look at what goes on at one of Louisville's favorite re-sale establishments! Along the way, we'll interview some of the vendors, discuss various aspects of collecting vintage items, highlight parts of the store, and provide news and updates. We hope you will enjoy reading about the store as much as you do shopping there.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with YesterNook (and we hope you don't stay that way for long), here is a brief overview. YesterNook is a multi-vendor resale establishment that features vintage furniture and collectibles, plus a whole lot more! There are over thirty vendors in the store, each one providing something unique and eclectic. If you can collect it, appreciate it, enjoy it, or use it, you'll probably find it at YesterNook!
Please come down to the store and check us out, if you haven't done so. We are located at 1041 Goss Avenue in the old Russman Funeral Home building in the heart of the Germantown/Schnitzelburg neighborhood of Louisville, KY. YesterNook is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and from 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. The store is only a couple of blocks from the Kroger at Goss and Poplar Level and just down the street from the Goss Antique Mall.
When you come, plan to spend a little while. There are two floors full of booths, which in turn are full of many wonderful items: glassware, furniture, vintage clothing, knick knacks, toys, books, records, paintings and pictures, pottery and ceramics, Christmas items and much more! This list only scratches the surface. There's also a four car garage that serves as our rough room and a customer lounge in the basement with drinks and snacks, not to mention the Christmas Cave!
When you're not browsing our wide selection of merchandise, you'll marvel at the many architectural features of the building: hardwood floors, sweeping arches, and large bright windows. The building was built in the 1920's and served the area for many years. YesterNook owners Patti and Doug Cape are pleased to have returned the building to use in this eclectic community.
We would love to see you, so please come on down! You may enter as a stranger, but you'll leave as a friend. And you'll want to come back soon. If you have any questions about the store, please call 502-690-4572. You can also visit our Facebook page for information and pictures of current merchandise from all our vendors. Many vendors advertise on Craigslist, so search for "YesterNook" there and you'll see some of our offerings.
Finally, don't forget to check back here at the blog on a regular basis. Our plan is to post once or twice a week with unique glimpses of the store you won't get anywhere else! For those of you who have become supporters of the store over the past year, we extend our sincere thanks. We're glad you've become part of the YesterNook experience and we look forward to serving you for many years to come!
