WHERE WERE YOU 50 YEARS AGO TODAY?

On that awful day in 1963, I was in 6th grade at Jeffersontown Elementary.  In those days we had milk break.  Myself and Dickie Farmer were on our way back to class from the cafeteria with our milk when Mr. Seakamp our principal announced over the intercom that President Kennedy had been shot and killed in Dallas.  When Dickie and I walked back into the classroom our teacher, Mrs Cleveland was sitting at her desk sobbing.  A lot of my classmates cried with her although I'm not sure we totally understood the magnitude of what had just happened.
As an adult I can look back on that day in a different light.  This was our President who was deeply respected in his position.  I also see how the hate of one individual can wreak havoc on so many lives.
Who can ever forget this picture?

For today and everyday get rid of the hate in your heart, it hurts no one but yourself.   Never fail to tell those that you love that you do love them.  Cherish your family and your friends.

How Soon is Too Soon.

Have you noticed all of the Christmas Decorations that have been in the Stores for quite a while now?  How about the radio stations that have already started playing Christmas music?  YesterNook typically has Christmas year round but not an over abundance.  We also have not decorated for Christmas yet.  We typically like to take one Holiday at a time.

What are your thoughts on the subject?

Now having said that we did just get a large amount of Hallmark Ornaments in.  They are among all of the other great items that YesterNook carries.  But don't worry we won't start playing Christmas music yet.

Vintage Girls

Vintage Girls was a business developed out of a passion for giving tattered treasures a vintage flair. We sell Plaster Paint and refinished finds.
Vintage Girls is located on the 2nd floor of Yesternook, a multiple vendor shop, on Goss Avenue in Germantown. We sell Plaster Paint, a paint which eliminated the need to sand, prime, or strip your project and the plaster effect also hides imperfections like water stains and small crack! Plaster Paint is non toxic and with virtually no smell! Come visit us and GET PLASTERED!
Come in and check out the color selection.

Don't forget to check out all of the other great booths while you are here.

Secondly, a bit of fun news.

The second YesterNook Parking Lot Sale will be Saturday, October 12th  from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Just like before, vendors will be set up with special deals, plus there will be space available for others to come sell their items.  Space rental will be ten dollars and space is limited, so call or email the store to sign up soon.  We had a great time with the first one, and the response was super.  We hope to see many of you there on the 12th.

Where Have You Been?

You there!  Yes, you!  The one reading this blog on a tablet in a coffee shop.  And you scanning the web on your phone in the grocery store.  I see you.  You know who you are!  (As for the guy reading this on your PC at home in your underwear, I can see you too, but really wish I couldn’t.)

Where have you been?  It’s been weeks since we’ve seen you in YesterNook!  We’ve been getting worried about you!  Seriously.

If you haven’t been by in a while, now is the time to come in.  I was there over the weekend and hardly recognized the place.  New furniture!  New smalls!  New stuff all over the place!  New booths with great stuff in them!  The place looks fresher and more fun than ever.

Want proof?  Click this link and check out our Facebook page, where you’ll find pictures and updates and all kind of information.

Then, when you’ve finished that latte or your grocery shopping, come on by.  There’s no time like the present.  (Dude in your underwear, please put on pants first.)

We’ve been missing you.
