Have you ever noticed how nice YesterNook smells when you first walk in the door?
Patti and Sharron keep scented candles burning at the register, and they make the first floor smell so nice and inviting. It's a little homey touch that kind of sets the stage for the YesterNook experience. On those days when there's popcorn popping in the basement, you can smell it all over the store!
Have you ever noticed how great YesterNook sounds?
One day it will be Billie Holiday. The next it might be Elvis. Or Big Bands. Or Love Songs. It kind of fits in a store full of items from different eras to hear music from different eras. The music adds to your experience while shopping, but doesn't overpower you or try to make you hurry. Many customers have complimented us on the music we play, which Patti's father records to CD from his vast album collection.
Have you ever noticed how much the store changes from week to week and even day to day?
Vendors (including Patti and Sharron) bring in new items all the time. Some even come in two or three times a week. New arrivals, combined with other items selling, mean that some areas are rearranged frequently. They can look totally different every few days! The large room called Hattie, across from the register, especially seems to change constantly. The dinette set that sat in the middle of the room on Monday could be replaced by a bedroom suite by Wednesday.
Have you ever noticed how quickly that item you really wanted goes home with someone else?
A store like YesterNook has no set inventory, so that item you really like is the only one in the store. There's not another one in storage in the back. Even with around 40 vendors, all carrying different items, typically there's only one of most items in the store. We can't tell you how many times someone has contacted the store to ask about something they saw a couple of days earlier, only to find that it had already sold. Not to pressure anyone, but if you see it and you like it, you should consider getting it.
Have you ever noticed the really cool details in the building?
Seriously, this is one cool building. The hardwood floors upstairs are really awesome! And have you seen those arches all over the place? The architecture seems to totally fit the nature and purpose of the store.
Have you ever really noticed that it might be time to visit YesterNook again?
If you haven't been in a while, it might be time to stop in and see what's new! Holiday items are beginning to show up! Plus, there's a ton of new furniture and stuff in the garage!
